Competition Categories and Levels:

There are two categories for each competition:

  • Assigned Topic
  • Pictorial/Nature (photographer’s choice of subject)

It is the intent of the Assigned Topic category to stimulate creativity and encourage the member to ‘get out and shoot’.  Therefore, Assigned Topics must be shot between the announcement date and the closing date for the competition.

Images submitted for Pictorial category must have been created within the past 5 years (e.g.: after January 1, 2012 for the 2017 season).

The club has established three skill levels: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each member has been placed in an appropriate level.   When you join the club you will have an opportunity to choose your skill level to ensure you are placed at the appropriate level.

Placements ( First, Second, Third ) are assigned for each Category and each Level.   They represent the highest, second highest and third highest scores, without any attempt to break ties.  The highest score in each category is also given the distinction of Overall Winner for that category.

Medium: Digital files.  Currently the club is only working with digital files.

Number of entries: Up to 6 images per competition (up to 3 Assigned and up to 3 Pictorial/Nature).
